WKRP in Cincinnati premiered on September 18, 1978 and ran for four seasons with a total of ninety episodes. The show sadly ended on April 21, 1982. WKRP was based on a fictional radio station located here in Cincinnati. It followed the antics of the cast including should characters as Dr. Johnny Fever, Venus Flytrap, and Les Nessman.

The most famous episode of WKRP in Cincinnati, and one of the most acclaimed episodes of any sitcom, “Turkeys Away”, follow’s the station’s misguided attempt to give away turkeys. The whole promotion ends in disaster and hilarity, with the final line of the show emerging as one of the most often quoted in TV history: “As God as my witness- I thought turkeys could fly.”
